يعتبر أكبر جيش في العالم من حيث الجنود النظاميين هو الجيش الصيني بعدد 2,285,000 ثم الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية بعدد 1,580,255.
والقائمة لأكثر 10 كما يلي:

2- أريتيريا 35.7 من كل 1000 نسمة.
3- اسرائيل 24.4 من كل 1000 نسمة.
4- قبرص الشمالية 18.9 من كل 1000 نسمة.
5- بروناي 18 من كل 1000 نسمة.
6- الأردن 16 من كل 1000 نسمة.
7- أرمينيا 15.7 من كل 1000 نسمة.
8- سنغافورة 15.6 من كل 1000 نسمة.
9- لبنان 14.7 من كل 1000 نسمة.

سيؤول وحلفاؤها يجرون مناورات عسكرية مشتركة بالتزامن مع ذكرى بدء الحرب الكورية

جري كوريا الجنوبية والولايات المتحدة واليابان يوم 22 يونيو/حزيران تدريبات عسكرية مشتركة في جنوب شبه الجزيرة الكورية. وتأتي هذه التدريبات بالتزامن مع الذكرى الـ62 لبدء الحرب الكورية (1950 - 1953)، كما وصفت بأنها أوسع مناورات مشتركة اجراها الحلفاء لمدة يوم واحد.
وقالت وزارة الدفاع الكورية الجنوبية ان أكثر من الفي جندي يشاركون في التدريبات، مشددة على انها تجري خارج الحدود المائية للدول المشاركة.
وأعلنت سيؤول ان التدريبات تهدف الى رفع مستوى التنسيق بين الدول الثلاث لتسهيل التعاون في حالات الطوارئ والكوارث والأنشطة الأمنية، بينما يشير المراقبون الى ان المناورات التي تجري على خلفية زيادة حدة التوتر في المنطقة ترمي الى اظهار قدرة الحلفاء على التصدي لأي هجوم محتمل من قبل كوريا الشمالية.
