هناك الكثير من الكلمات المتشابهة بين العربية والانجليزية في النطق والمعنى او لأنها مأخوذة من مصدر واحد او انها متشابهة ولكن اصول اشتقاقها غير معروفة وهنا اريد ان انقل لكم بعضا من هذة الكلمات لعلها تثري الحصيلة اللغوية لديكم :

Academy ==اكادمي==هذه الكلمة مأخوذة من الكلمة اليونانية akademeia والتي كانت تطلق على المدرسة التي انشاها الفيلسوف اليوناني افلاطون بالقرب من اثينا وكان يدرس فيها الفلسفة .

Aerial ==إريال ==هوائي مأخوذة من الكلمة اللاتينية aerius وتعني من الهواء او بواسطة الهواء .

Accumulate ==اكيوميوليت ==هذه الكلمة تعني يكوم او يكدس ,مأخوذة من الكلمة اللاتينية accumular.

Algebra==الجبرا ==مأخوذة من الكلمة العربية الجبر .

Album ==البم ==البوم الصور .

Asphalt ==اسفلت ==وهي مأخوذة من الكلمة اللاتينية asphalyus.

Arsenal ==ارسينال==تعني مستودع اسلحة وهي عربية الاصل مأخوذة من دار الصناعة او دار صناعة الاسلحة.

Aspirin ==اسبرن=اسبرين الدواء المعروف وهذه الكلمة مشتقة من الكلمة اللاتينية aspirea .

Assassin=اسسن=قاتل خاص لأسباب سياسية مأخوذة من العربية حشاشين وهي طائفة اشتهرة بتعاطي الحشيش وقتل الولاة في العصر العباسي .


Attar=اتار =عطر مأخوذة من العربية عطر يعني طيب باللغة العامية .

Bachelor=باتشلر =بكالوريوس وهي مشتقة من اللتينية baccalaris وتعني فارس او مرتبة فارس ومنها اطلق على الشهادة الدراسية هذا الاسم اي الحصول على مرتبة الفروسية .


Blouse =بلاوز=بلوزة وهي فرنسية الاصل .

Bug =بق=وتعني بق او حشرة.

Caliph=كالف =مأخوذ من العربية خليفة.

Camphor =كامفر= مأخوذة من العربية كافور.

Coffee =كفي=قهوةوههي عربية الاصل .

Cumin =كمن=كمون وهي عربية الاصل .

Dervish =درفش=من العربية درويش.

Guava =غوافا =جوافة مأخوذة من لغة التينو (لغة هندية (>

Mascara =مسكارا=مسكرة وهي عربية الاصل .

Nicotine =نكتين=سميت بهذا الاسم نسبة للسفير الفرنسي في لشبونة Jean Nicot حيث يعتبر اول من ادخلالتبغ الى بلاده.
