Well, I believe that when we claim that love is blind, we simply mean that we may love someone without hesitation or without even any prior intention to do so. It is something that occurs suddendly and forcefully. Love and air, I assume, are two sides for the same coin. So, we can say that we inhale love not only to keep alive, but also to survive happily.
